Ruling Bangladesh Awami League’s Kishoreganj district unit industries and trade affairs secretary Badal Rahman was found dead in a pond in the district town’s Sholakia area on Sunday.

Badal was also a former president of the district Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

According to the deceased’s family, he left the home in the town at about 8:00pm on Saturday but never returned.

Locals spotted the body floating in the pond of Bepari Bari in the city’s Sholakia area at about 9:00am on Sunday.

informed, a police team rushed to the spot and recovered the body, said Kishoreganj Sadar Police Station officer-in-charge Abu Daud.

He said that the body was sent to Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Mohammad Russel Sheikh, superintendent of the district police, said that an investigation was on, and actions would be taken as per the law.
