Bangladesh confirmed five more deaths from the novel coronavirus in the last 24 hours till Saturday at 8am, taking the toll at 8,400.

The number of positive cases has reached at 5,45,831, as 407 new cases found over the period.

Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the latest development issuing a press release on this afternoon.
Of the total tests, the latest day’s infection rate was 3.30%, though the overall positivity rate in the country till date was 13.54%.

The overall fatality rate in the country now stands at 1.54%.

Meanwhile, 12,348 samples were tested in 214 labs across the country in the past 24 hours. A total of 40,30,616 samples have so far been tested in the country.

A total of 609 patients were declared free of Covid-19 during the same period, raising the total number of recoveries to 4,96,107 with a recovery rate of 90.89%.
