Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa paid glowing homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on Saturday.
The visiting Lankan PM showed his respect to Bangabandhu by placing a wreath at his portrait on the premises of Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi 32 in the capital Dhaka at 10:00am.
He also visited the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum and signed a visiting book.
Earlier, on his arrival at the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum, Mahinda Rajapaksa was received by Bangladesh Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi.
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam and officials of the museum were present.
On Friday, Lankan Prime Minister paid rich tributes to the liberation heroes at National Memorial in Savar on the outskirts of Dhaka.
He paid homage by placing a wreath at the Memorial.
The Sri Lankan Prime Minister will pay a courtesy call on Bangladesh President Md Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban at 5:00pm today.
Ending his two-day state visit, Mahinda Rajapaksa will depart Dhaka for Colombo at 6pm.
