The United States delegation has said that they want to see a ‘free, fair and violence-free’ election, home minister Asaduzzaman Khan said on Thursday.
‘We told the US delegation that law enforcement is ready and will work with the Election Commission during the polls,’ he told reporters after the US delegation led by under secretary Uzra Zeya held a meeting with him.
‘The delegation also reiterated that they did not come here to support any political party; rather, all they want to see is a free, fair, and violence-free election in the country,’ the minister said.
The US delegation has also assured cooperation in the repatriation of the Rohingyas, added the home minister.
