In the wake of dengue outbreak across the country, Bangladesh Bank on Sunday instructed banks to take adequate measures to protect bank employees and customers from dengue.
The banking Regulation and Policy Department gave special instructions to banks to destroy the breeding grounds of Aedes mosquitoes and keep the bank premises and its surroundings clean regularly to prevent dengue.
The central bank also gave instruction to raise awareness about the prevention of dengue in order to protect officers, employees, and customers of banks and clean regularly the bank’s head office, branches, sub-branches, agent outlets, training centers, ATM booths, and call centers and its surroundings.
Apart from the office buildings, the bank will take the necessary initiatives to raise awareness about the cleanliness of the residential buildings built for the officers and employees of the banks.
