Police recovered the body of a female garments worker from a rented house in Ashulia’s Jamnagar Beron area on the outskirts of Dhaka on Wednesday night.
The deceased was identified as Ratna Akter, 21, used to work at a garments factory in Ashulia, hailing from Haludia village in Sundarganj upazila of Gaibandha.
Confirming the news, Al-Mamun Kabir, sub-inspector of Ashulia Police Station said, “On information by Ratna’s relatives, a team of law enforcers went to Jamnagar Beron area of Ashulia and recovered the body after break open the door of the room”.
“The body was sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College & Hospital for autopsy. We suspect the woman might have been strangled to death by miscreants”, he said.
