The novel coronavirus has killed 924,577 people at 11:40 am till Sunday (05:40 GMT) in the  213 countries and territories since the virus emerged in China last December, according to latest data from worldometer.

So far some 28,944,152 people have contacted with coronavirus, 20,812,592 patients are now considered recovered.

Besides, the number of active cases are 7,206,983.

With the fresh tally in the 24-hour, 5,000 people died of coronavirus while 284,425 corona cases were detected, and 226,445 patients have made fully recovery.

Among the coronavirus affected countries, the US has gone up to 198,128 deaths, followed by Brazil with 131,274; India 78,614; Mexico 70,604; UK 41,623, Italy 35,603; France 30,910; Iran 23,029; Russia 18,484; Indonesia 8,650; Pakistan 6,379; Iraq 7,941; Bangladesh 4,702; Saudi Arabia 4,240 and UAE 399 respectively, worldometer reported.
