The Ministry of Primary and Mass Education is mulling to reopen government primary schools from November 15.
A short syllabus for 30 days is being prepared to provide a basic skill to the students. If it is possible to reopen the schools, the students will be promoted to the next classes after completion of the short syllabus.
A source from the ministry confirmed the matter on Tuesday.
If the reopening is not possible by November 15, the schools will be instructed to distribute certificates to the students following their own method of evaluation, the source added.
The government has already decided not to transfer any government primary teacher following the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Giving direction in this regard, letters were sent to divisional deputy directors of nine departments of primary education directorate on October 25.
“The primary educational institutions are shut right now due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. It is advisable to stop all kinds of transfers of teachers in this situation,” the letters read.
