The income tax return submission deadline ends on Monday as the National Board of Revenue (NBR) has decided not to extend the time limit.
In a press conference on Sunday, NBR Chairman Abu Hena Md Rahmatul Muneem said the last date for filing income tax returns is November 30.
The taxpayers will be able to file their tax returns taking time from tax offices, said the NBR chairman while responding to a question from reporters at the press conference.
The NBR made the disclosure despite demand from taxpayers for extension of the deadline as the second wave of coronavirus looms and number of Covid-19 cases is rising for the last several weeks.
The NBR chairman said commissioners have been told to be soft towards taxpayers regarding imposition of penalty for failure to submit their annual income statements within the deadline.
