Barcelona captain Lionel Messi was crowned with a new international award, before the end of 2020.Messi won the Peace Champion Award at the 2020 Peace and Sports Awards, which are given to an athlete who has led a meaningful and sustainable sporting initiative aimed at peace, justice and inclusion.

The Argentine expressed his great happiness at winning the award, after he posted a picture of him holding the award through his personal account on the social networking site Instagram and said: It is a great honor to receive the Peace Champion of the Year award, respecting others is something I learned when I was a child and still trying to apply it in a stadium Football, it is my pleasure to be recognized as a fair play player
