The annual conference of the deputy commissioners (DCs) has been postponed due to fears over the spread of coronavirus.

The cabinet division was planning to organise the three-day conference in the capital from January 5 to 7 next year.

Additional Secretary to the Cabinet Division (District and Field Administration Division) Sheikh Rafiqul Islam said the Prime Minister’s Office postponed the conference due to coronavirus.

He, however, said that they did not receive the letter in this regard yet.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was scheduled to inaugurate the conference virtually.

The DC Conference is held in July every year for the face-to-face exchange of views between government policymakers and deputy commissioners and for giving necessary directions.
