A woman was killed in a road accident adjacent to Airport Armed Police Battalion (APBn) ground under Airport Police Station in the capital on Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Fatema Sumi, 38, wife of late Kazi Saiful Islam hailing from city’s Uttara area.

A vehicle hit Fatema while she was crossing road Wednesday night, said Md Taiz Uddin, sub-Inspector of Airport police station.

Later, she was admitted to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) where doctor declared him dead.

An investigation is going on to detect the killer vehicle.

Besides, sub-inspector (SI) of Gulshan Police Station Qamrul Islam was killed in road accident in the same area on Wednesday, said ABM Forman Ali, officer-in-charge (OC) of Airport Police Station.

It is apprehended that the woman was on the motorcycle of SI Kamrul Islam who was killed in road accident in the same place, added the OC.
