The total Covid-19 case count globally reached 84,535,117 while the death toll climbed to 1,834,963 in the morning.

But there is a glimmer of hope as the seven-day rolling average of daily new cases fell from 219,345.9 on December18 to 194,737.7 on January 1 and the seven-day rolling average of daily new deaths dipped slightly from 2,580 to 2,506 during the same period, reports AP.
Brazil has registered 314 more deaths from COVID-19, bringing the death toll to 195,725, the Ministry of Health reported on Saturday.
The ministry also said that 15,827 new cases had been reported, bringing the number of accumulated cases to 7,716,405.
According to official statistics, deaths from COVID-19 during December increased 64.45 percent compared to November, rising from 13,263 to 21,811 in the country.
India’s COVID-19 tally rose to 10,305,788 on Saturday as 19,079 new cases were registered during the past 24 hours, said the latest data from the health ministry.
According to the data, the death toll mounted to 149,218 as 224 COVID-19 patients died since Friday morning.
