The ruling Awami League (AL) starts distribution of the party’s nomination papers on Tuesday among mayoral aspirants for 56 municipal elections to be held under the fourth phase on February 14. For this, the party has called upon the leaders and activists seeking candidacy to collect the nomination forms.
The information has been released through a press note issued by Awami League office secretary Barrister Biplob Barua.
He said interested leaders and activists will be able to collect and submit nomination papers from and to party President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s political office in Dhanmondi from January 5 to January 11.
Concerned district, upazila and municipality Awami League presidents and secretaries will be able to collect nomination papers as per the constitution of the party.
Applications should be collected and submitted by the candidate himself or through a qualified representative in compliance with proper hygiene rules without any kind of public gatherings.
Candidates must bring a photocopy of his/her NID card while collecting the application form.
