All-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz hit his maiden century as Bangladesh put up 430 in their first innings of the opening Test against West Indies at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Thursday.
Coming to bat at No. 8 position, Miraz scored 103 off 168, smashing 13 boundaries.
He shared three important partnerships to help Bangladesh establish their full dominance against the Caribbean on slow pitch after the home side resumed the day two on 242-5.
Miraz stitched 67-run with Shakib for the seventh wicket stand before putting on further 45-run with Taijul Islam (18) for the eighth wicket and 67 with Nayeem Hasan (24) for ninth wicket stand.
Shakib Al Hasan was the other notable scorer with 68 while opener Shadman Islam made 59.
Left arm spinner Jomel Warrican was the pick of West Indies bowlers with 4-133 while Rakheem Cornwall returned figures of 2-114.
