61 held in anti-drug raids in the capital

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) and its detective branch have arrested 61 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs during anti-drug operations from different areas of the capital.
Some 548 grams of heroin, 36.210 kilogram (kg) of ganja, 3,218 pieces of yaba and 4 cans of beer were recovered from their possession, according to a press release issued by DMP here today.
The press release also said that as part of the regular anti-drug drive of DMP, they were arrested and drugs were recovered from different police stations in the capital from 6 am on Thursday to 6 am today.
A total of 42 cases have been filed against them under the Narcotics Control Act with the concerned police stations.
