14 die in RMCH’s Covid unit in 24 hours

Fourteen people died at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital’s (RMCH) Covid unit in 24 hours till this morning.
Of the deceased, six were Covid-19 positive while the rest died with symptoms, Director General of the hospital Brigadier General Shamim Yazdani said.
“Meanwhile, 186 people have tested positive for corona at the hospital during the 24-hour period. Some 556 samples were tested in two laboratories of the district during the period,” the director said.
The positivity rate currently stands at 29.63%.
Besides, 64 people were admitted to the hospital with Covid symptoms in the past 24 hours. Currently, 518 patients are undergoing treatment at the hospital which has 454 beds.
