Trained imams can play a vital role in building crime-free society which is crucial for development of the society.
Speakers at a discussion viewed that imams should come forward to free the society from social and moral degradation.
They were addressing at the certificate giving and closing ceremony of a 45-day long regular training course of the 988th batch of Imam Training Academy at its conference hall at Boyra in the city yesterday.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Khulna Md. Helal Hossain addressed the session as the chief guest with Director of Islamic Foundation Shaheen Bin Zaman in the chair.
Civil Surgeon of Khulna ASM Abdur Razzaque and District Education Officer Khondokar Ruhul Amin also spoke on the occasion.
The guests distributed certificates among 104 imams participated in the training course.
The chief guest said the imams have very much important role in resisting drug-addiction, militancy, terrorism and corruption in the society.
He urged the trained imams to play their responsible role in forwarding the country’s present development process side by side with protecting the social stability.
“We have to forge social resistance against sexual harassment, dowry and multiple marriage for ensuring women education, social harmony and family values,” he added.
He urged the Muslim preachers to disseminate their knowledge acquired from the training course among the community people.
