Derailment snaps Dhaka-Chattogram rail link

Rail communication between Dhaka and Chattogram remained suspended as three compartments of freight train derailed at Tongi in Gazipur on Tuesday morning.

The train derailed 10:00am in the area this morning.

Halimuzzaman, station master of Airport Railway Station, confirmed the matter.

The station master further said that the higher authorities have been informed to normalise the train movement. A rescue train will be sent to the spot soon.

However, no causality was reported.
