Another dead dolphin found in Halda River

Chattogram’s river police recovered another dead dolphin from Ramdas Munshirhat area of Halda River on Monday morning.

Halda River is known for its natural breeding of carp-like fishes in South Asia.

Professor Manzoorul Kibria, an eminent researcher on the Halda river, confirmed the matter to media.

He said locals spotted the dolphin and informed the naval police this morning. Later, the naval police reached the spot and recovered the dead dolphin. It was then buried with the help of locals.

He said Halda lost a total of 31 dolphins since 2017.

Earlier, a dead dolphin was recovered from Barua Para area of Modunarghat of Halda River on Thursday morning (September 30).
