Police recovered the body of a vegetable trader in Teradona area of ​​Betila union of Manikganj Sadar upazila on Monday morning.

The deceased was identified as Robin Mia (22).

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Manikganj Sadar Police Station, Akbar Ali Khan, said the police found the body of Robin, with hands and legs tied, in the area around 8am.

The OC said that Robin Mia and Hiron riding to go to Manikganj vegetable market at around 3am. A group of eight to ten people stopped them by blocking the road and they struck Hiron in the head and he lost consciousness in Teradona area of Betila-Balirtek road. When he regained consciousness, he found Robin lying dead and informed the police, the OC said.

“The body was recovered and sent to the morgue for an autopsy. Police are trying to identify the criminals,” said the OC.

“The miscreants looted my easy bike, Tk 2,500 from me and Tk 10,000-12,000 from Robin,” Hiron said.
