Three school students were killed after their motorcycle hit a road side tree at Dhalapara in Ghatail upazila of Tangail on Monday morning.

The deceased are identified as Md Sharif, son of Samir Uddin, Abu Bakar, son of Shah Jalal, and Saim, son of late Ramzan Ali of the upazila. All three were 16-year-old and ninth graders at Dhalapara SUP High School.

The motorcycle carrying the the trio lost control and hit the road side tree near Dhalapara Sorisha Ata intersection around 10:30am, leaving the three dead on the spot, said Ezaharul Islam, chairman of Dhalapara Union Parishad.

On information, relatives of the victims took their bodies to their respective houses, he said.

Azharul Islam, officer-in-charge of Ghatail Police Station, said police were sent to the spot after learning that three teenage boys died in a bike accident.
