Farmer killed in Cox’s Bazar wild elephant attack

A farmer was trampled to death as a wild elephant attacked him at Alipur area of Harbang union under Chakaria upazila in Cox’s Bazar on Wednesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Jabindra Barua, son of Guradhan Barua, from Paschim Baruapara area of the upazila.
Shangkar Barua, relative of deceased, said an elephant attacked Jabindra Barua when he was returning home from his paddy field in the area at 5:00 am, leaving him dead on the spot.
Miranul Islam Miran, chairman of Harbang Union Parishad, said that the body of Jabindra Barua was handed over to the family with the permission of the local administration.
