Former OC of Teknaf Police Station Pradeep Kumar Das and former inspector Liaqat Ali, who were sentenced to death for killing Major (retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan, have been transferred to Kashimpur Central Jail in Gazipur.

Senior prison superintendent Gias Uddin said they were brought to the jail in a prison van under tight security around 8:30pm on Wednesday.

They were in Chattogram Central Jail since February 5.

On Monday, a Cox’s Bazar court Pradeep and Liaqat to death, and six other people to life imprisonment for killing Sinha.

Sinha was shot to death by Liaqat at a checkpoint at Shamalpur on the Cox’s Bazar-Teknaf Marine Drive on the night of July 31, 2020.

On August 5 that year, his elder sister Sharmin Shahriar Ferdous filed a murder case against nine people, including Pradeep.
