Ten killed as bus hits tree in Barishal

Ten people were killed and 20 others injured as a bus hit a roadside tree in Wazirpur upazila in Barishal early Sunday.
The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
The incident took place on Dhaka-Barishal highway at Sanuhar area of the upazila at around 5:30am when a bus of Jamuna Line Paribahan hit a tree after the driver lost his control over the steering, leaving eight people dead on the spot and 22 others injured, Ali Arshad, officer-in-charge of Wazirpur Police Station.
Later, two others succumbed to their injuries on the way to hospital.
The injured have been admitted to Barishal’s Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital, the OC said.
