Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS) President Sayem Sobhan Anvir condoled death of Awami League Presidium Member and Deputy Leader of the House Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury.
In a condolence message, he expressed deep sorrow at the death of organiser of the War of Liberation, a valiant freedom fighter and seasoned politician.
The nation will remember with gratitude the contributions of Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury to the War of Independence, non-communal Bangladesh in post-war era, rural development, literacy and women empowerment, he said, adding Bangladesh has lost a patriotic politician.
Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury played vital role in streamlining Awami League again in a critical moment caused by assassination of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on August 15, 1975. She held the party’s general secretary post during a period from 1986 to 1992.
The BAJUS President prayed for salvation of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
