Shakib Al Hasan and Ebadot Hossain shared nine wickets between them as Bangladesh bowled out India for 186 in 41.2 overs in the first of the of the three-match one-day international series at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Sunday.
Shakib took 5-36 runs – the best figures for a Bangladeshi spinner against India – to break the back of the India innings after they were sent in to bat by Bangladesh’s stand-in skipper Liton Das.
Liton himself took a blinder to send back star India star batsman Virat Kohli for nine of a Shakib delivery as the visitors were under the cosh right from the word go.
Shakib, who also dismissed Rohit Sharma, Washington Sundar, Deepak Chahar and Shardul Thakur took his ODI wickets tally to 290, 127 of which came at Mirpur.
Ebadot got 4-46 runs, including the important wicket of KL Rahul, who topscored with a 70-ball 73 for India.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz got the other wicket for Bangladesh
