In a bid to stay alive in the three-match ODI series against Afghanistan, Bangladesh captain Liton Das decided to bowl first after winning the toss of the second game today at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.
Bangladesh made two changes from the first game which they lost by 17 runs through DLS method with batter Naim Sheikh and fast bowler Ebadot Hossain making their way.
A change was expected following Tamim Iqbal’s absence. Naim who played his last ODI in 2021, replaced the original captain for the series who was given six-week break following his reversal of the retirement decision after meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Ebadot came in the place of Taskin Ahmed who was given rest as part of the team’s rotation policy. Ebadot himself indeed was rested in the first game.
Afghanistan, eying a historical series victory over Bangladesh, with a game to spare remained unchanged as it was expected.
