The Rapid Action Battalion on Wednesday said that they arrested a man who had been driving the bus that met a fatal accident in Jhalokathi that killed at least 17 people four days ago.
The driver, Mohan Khan, was arrested at a location under Ashulia police station, on the outskirts of Dhaka at the night following Tuesday.
The battalion’s legal and media wing director Khandaker Al Moin confirmed the matter.
RAB officials said that they had on July 24 arrested the bus supervisor Mizan alias Faisal but the driver’s assistant Akash alias Bullet is still absconding.
On July 22, at least 17 people, including three children, were killed and 23 others injured as a bus plunged into a pond beside the Khulna–Barishal Highway near Dhansiri Union Parishad under Sadar upazila in Jhalokati.
