Due to active monsoon, people in six divisions including Dhaka may experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers in 24 hours, starting at 9:00am on Monday.
‘Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely at most places over Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions; at many places over Dhaka, Mymensingh and Khulna divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country,’ said a regular bulletin of the Met Office.
Day temperature may rise slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
The highest temperature was recorded at 32 degrees Celsius in Bagerhat’s Mongla while the lowest temperature was recorded at 24 degrees Celsius in Gopalganj in the country.
The weather office recorded the highest 56mm rainfall in Cox’s Chattogram’s Sandwip in 24 hours till 6:00am on Monday.
The axis of monsoon trough runs through Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay.
Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay.
