2 killed in lightning strike in Habiganj

Two people died and another was injured after being struck by lightning in Habiganj’s Madhabpur upazila on Friday afternoon.
The deceased Shanta Akter, 30, Sadia, 13 and and the injured Sharmin Akter, 45, are from the same family.
Lightning suddenly struck them when Sharmin, her daughter in-law Shanta and granddaughter Sadia were on their way home in Shimulghor Sarak Bazar area around 5 pm.
Dr Rakibul Islam of Madhabpur upazila health complex confirmed the matter.
Munjur Ahsan, upazila nirbahi officer, said the family will get government assistance.
