Israeli police did not let the Palestinians go inside of the Al-Aqsa Mosque who came for jummah salat (Friday prayer) by setting up barricades around the mosque and at the entrance gates. Some of them were allowed in after identity checks.
“At Lion’s Gate, the normal entry point for Al-Aqsa, we’ve seen some men being physically abused by the Israeli police,” one man trying to explain that he was hit by a police officer while just going inside to pray, reports Al Jazeera.
“It’s incredibly difficult for anyone to get even close to the mosque. Normally we would see thousands of people here for midday prayers. Roadblocks are set up across the occupied West Bank. People are being blocked from anywhere near the place they normally come on Friday,” the man added.
