Motorcyclist, pillion rider killed in Rajshahi road accident

A motorcyclist and a pillion rider were killed as a bus collided head on with their motorcycle and ran over them on Puthia-Taherpur road in Kachupara area under Puthia upazila in Rajshahi on Tuesday morning.
The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Saidur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Puthia police station, said that the incident took place at about 10:30am when a Chapainawabganj-bound bus collided head on with the motorcycle coming from the opposite direction, leaving the motorcyclist and the pillion rider dead on the spot.
‘We have seized the bus but its driver his assistant managed to flee,’ he said adding that the bodies of the deceased were sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for post-mortem examinations.
