UPDF’s blockade underway in Rangamati

The blockade which started from 5 am will continue till 12 pm.
Rangamati-Khagrachhari road communication is closed due to the blockade. However, traffic in Rangamati town is normal.
Supporters of the blockade have picketed by burning tires and tree trunks on various roads in Sapchhari, Kutukchhari, Ghilachhari, Nanyarchar of the district.
UPDF has alleged that the government is conspiring to repeal Chattogram Hill Tracts Regulation 1900 through the courts. This regulation is considered to protect the hill communities. They fear that if this rule of law is cancelled, the hill community will have no more rights and the community will be destroyed.
