BNP calls for lifting curfew, sending army back to barracks

BNP has called upon the government to lift the curfew and send the army back to barracks, paving the path of holding political programmes in a peaceful manner.BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir made the call while addressing a press conference held at party Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan office in Dhaka on Tuesday.

Stressing the need for undertaking political initiatives to get rid of the prevailing situation, Fakhrul said, “The step-down of the fascist and undemocratic government is the lone solution to the current crisis.”

He said that the illegal government carried out repressive and oppressive acts on the opposition party men and agitating students inhumanly.

Fakhrul also urged the government to stop the cruel atrocities, release the leaders and activists of his party and the students now behind bars unconditionally and withdraw the cases lodged against them.
