The Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit asked the banks to freeze the accounts of former education minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel and his family members, including his parents, for the next 30 days.
The BFIU also sought an update on the accounts within five work days of the issuance of the letter.
After Sheikh Hasina resigned and fled to India on August 5, the BFUJ froze the bank accounts of several influential leaders of Awami League.
