Bangladesh Udichi Shilpigosthi observed the fifth anniversary of the death of its former president and journalist Kamal Lohani organising a programme at its central office at Topkhana Road in the capital on Thursday, said a press release.

Udichi central committee vice-president Shivani Bhattacharya presided over the programme, which was anchored by Udichi assistant general secretary Iqbalul Haq Khan.

Udichi singers paid tribute to Kamal Lohani rendering songs, namely, Tomaro Ashime Prano Mono Loye and O Alor Pothojatri.

Renowned cultural activist Shankar Shaojal, Kamal Lohani’s son Sagar Lohani and daughter Bonna Lohani, Udichi general secretary Amit Ranjan Dey, vice-presidents Probir Sardar and Jamshed Anwar Tapan, among others, shared their memories of Kamal Lohani at the programme.

Besides, Udichi artistes paid tribute to Kamal Lohani rendering songs and reciting poems.
