Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus has instructed the secretaries to undertake a reform programme and implement it at all levels of the government, after holding discussions with stakeholders.

The chief adviser came up with the instruction during a meeting held with the secretaries in Dhaka on Wednesday, said a statement issued by the Chief Adviser Office on Wednesday.

“The chief adviser issued a marching order to undertake a reform programme for its implementation at all strata of the government. We must all work together to rebuild the country, upholding honesty, dedication, and accountability,” said the statement.

To build a new Bangladesh, Muhammad Yunus, also instructed the secretaries to come out of the traditional thinking process for conducting government activities by giving the highest importance to the public interest in a creative way.

The secretaries have been instructed to remove existing obstacles to ensure transparency and accountability by eliminating corruption.

The objectives of the interim government are to achieve maximum public satisfaction by providing proper services, ensuring the best use of public funds, promoting fair competition in public procurement, and maintaining transparency and accountability at all levels, according to the statement.

Additionally, all officials concerned with the ministries and departments of the government have been asked to submit time-bound action plans for short, medium and long-term reform programmes.

They are also instructed to regularly evaluate and monitor these plans, upholding their creative and citizen-friendly mindset.

Claiming that an affirmative perception has been created worldwide about the new Bangladesh following the student-people uprising, Yunus directed the secretaries to use the positive insights for the sake of the country’s overall progress and improvement.
