The Supreme Court of Bangladesh on Wednesday introduced a help desk to assist justice seekers facing difficulties in accessing services from various sections of the Supreme Court Registrar’s Office.

The help desk, operational as of Wednesday, will provide support for complaints related to manual service disruptions.

Justice seekers can dial +8801316154216 for assistance if they encounter problems with officials of the Registrar’s Office.

A designated officer will respond to calls between 10:00am and 4:00pm on all working days to offer guidance on resolving issues, according to a press release from the Supreme Court’s Public Relations Officer, Mohammad Shafiqul Islam.

This initiative is part of a broader reform under the directives issued by Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed on September 18.

The Chief Justice’s 12-point directive addressed misconduct, including harassment and financial irregularities, among employees of the Supreme Court Registrar’s Office.

It applied to assistant, deputy, and additional registrars, as well as the registrar general.

The directives aim to end all unauthorised financial dealings, ensure the timely delivery of services, and protect justice seekers from any form of mistreatment.

The Supreme Court employed approximately 2,500 staff members, covering all levels of its registry operations.

The help desk is a step toward improving transparency and accountability within the judiciary.
