‘Adim’ bags ‘Best of the Fest’ award at Queens World Film Festival

Young Bangladeshi filmmaker Juboraj Shamim-directed feature film Adim won the Best of the Fest award at the 12th Queens World Film Festival in Queens, New York, USA on Sunday.

Juboraj Shamim told New Age that the film participated in the main category of the festival  which took place from November 1 to November 6.

‘I received an email on September 21 from the authority of Queens World Film Festival regarding Adim’s participation in the main category at the 12th Queens World Film Festival. I did not imagine that the film would bag the Best of the Fest award,’ Juboraj Shamim told New Age.

‘Earlier, Adim won the NETPAC Award at the 44th Moscow International Film Festival. I am very much delighted because the film has won yet another prestigious award,’ added Juboraj Shamim.

Adim premiered at the 44th Moscow International Film Festival, which is the second oldest film festival in the world, on August 30. The film participated in the main competition category of the MIFF and bagged the NETPAC Award at the festival, which featured 230 films from 65 countries.

The total budget of the film was Tk 15 lakh, which was raised by selling shares of the film to donors. Each share was sold for Tk 5,000. The shares were bought by fifty donors.
