Start day with a banana, not coffee

Most health experts and nutritionists are of the idea that the first meal should give you enough energy to take on the day. But if you’re starting your day with tea or coffee, then nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar, who has helped celebrities like Kareena Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Kangana Ranaut, gives options that are better for your health.

The benefits of banana instaead of tea of coffee is listed below:

“If you’re struggling with digestion, gas, bloating or you’re low on energy or having cravings post a meal, have constipation then start your day with a banana. If you can’t have a banana or don’t like a banana then eat a local or seasonal fruit,” nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar says in the post.

“Banana – for all those who have digestion issues or get sugar cravings post a meal. Buy fresh, local variety. Buy at least 2-3 times a week and do not bring them home in plastic bags, use a cloth bag instead,” she wrote.

Other tips that should accompany your morning ritual, Diweakr suggested:

  1. It’s okay to have chai (tea) or coffee 10-15 minutes post this meal.
  2. Have a glass of (only) plain water and then have this meal.
  3. Eat this within 20 minutes of waking up or post the thyroid pill.
  4. You can workout/do yoga, etc., 15-20 minutes after this meal.
  5. If you’re not working out, you can have your breakfast within an hour of this meal.
  6. You can drink the water in which you soaked the raisins.
