Mother ‘commits suicide’ after killing son in Jhenaidah

A woman allegedly committed suicide after killing her minor son at Bakoshpota village of Maheshpur upazila in Jhenaidah early Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Rifa Khatun, 25, wife of Mamun Hossain and her 6-year old son Rabbi Hassan Rifat.
Confirming the news, Morshed Hossain Khan, officer-in-charge (OC) of Maheshpur Polices Station, that Rifa strangulated her minor son to death and later she committed suicide hanging by herself in the area. After returning home, husband Mamun found his wife hanging. Hearing screams of Mamun, neighbors rushed to the spot and broke open the door, and found Rabbi dead and Rifa hanging.
The bodies were sent to Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsies, he said.
