The High Court on Monday stayed a lower court order that granted bail to Sohel Rana, owner of Rana Plaza in a graft case.
The High Court bench of Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder passed the order after hearing a petition virtually through video conference.
Earlier, Anti-Corruption Commission filed the petition challenging the lower court’s bail order to Sohel Rana in the case.
A Dhaka court on May 17 this year granted bail to Rana in the graft case.
The stay order will continue for one week after reopening of the court’s regular activities following the ongoing closure, the HC said.
On December 31, 2017, ACC filed the case with Savar Model Police Station against Sohel Rana on charge of amassing wealth worth Tk 2.54 crore beyond known sources of income.
