Three more physicians died of coronavirus in Dhaka, Chattogram and Dinajpur on Wednesday morning.
The deceased are: Chattogram Metropolitan Hospital’s senior RMO Dr Nurul Haque, Dr M Ashrafuzzaman, 61, former associate professor of the Burn Unit at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, and Dr Shah Abdul Ahad, 67, former director of M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital.
Dr Rahat Anwar, joint secretary of Foundation for Doctors’ safety Rights and Responsibility (FDSR) confirmed the matter on Wednesday.
Dr Nurul Haque admitted to the Metropolitan Hospital on June 14 with respiratory problem. He died this morning.
Dr Ashrafuzzaman died at Kuwait Bangladesh friendship Hospital around 8am and Dr Abdul Ahad at Dinajpur Abdur Rahim Hospital around 8:20am.
According to the FDSR, 37 physicians have, so far, died with coronavirus and five died with the virus symptoms across the country.
Besides, 1,223 physicians have been infected with the virus.
