Regent Hospital chairman Mohammad Shahed Karim has been handed over to Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) for investigation.
Detective Branch (DB) of Police handed him to the elite force according to the approval given by the home ministry.
Earlier on Wednesday, the RAB was given the charge of investigation of a case filed over Covid-19 test report forgery against Shahed.
Shahed was in DB custody for the last five days after a Dhaka court placed him on remand for 10 days for interrogation.
RAB arrested Shahed from Satkhira on July 15 while he was trying to leave the country through border.
On July 7, a mobile court of RAB led by executive magistrate Sarwoer Alam sealed off Regent group head office and its hospital on charge of issuing several thousand Covid-19 fake reports and charging patients for test and treatment, violating an agreement with government.
