Three people, including a student and a van driver, were killed after a bus rammed a van near Chinakhara Bazar in Sujanagar upazila of Pabna early Thursday.

The deceased were identified as Sohel Rana, 16, was a student of class ten in Chinakhara Secondary  High School, son of local union parishad member Abul Kalam Azad, van driver Ilias, 45, son of late Hakim, hailing from Hasanpur village of Santhia upazila and Harun, 28, son of late Kashem, from Andharkata village of Sujanagar upazila.

Ali Reza, officer-in-charge (OC) of Pabna Madhabpur highway police outpost, said that the Dhaka-bound passenger bus hit the van carrying them on Pabna-Nagabari highway, leaving van driver dead on the spot and its passengers injured.

Later, locals took the injured to Pabna Sadar Hospital where duty doctor declared them dead, he said.
