A doctor of Jashore Medical College Hospital, who tested positive for coronavirus, was airlifted to Dhaka by a special helicopter (air ambulance) on Wednesday night as his condition deteriorated.
Dr Saiduzzaman, 32, is a lecturer of Department of Anatomy of the hospital.
Confirming the news, Dr Golam Mortoza, office secretary of Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) Jessore district unit, said the doctor was admitted to Mugdha General Hospital in the capital.
Earlier, Saiduzzaman was found infected with the coronavirus on Tuesday and undergoing treatment at Jashore Ibne Sina Hospital. Later, he transferred to Dhaka by the helicopter after his physical condition deteriorated around 8 pm on Wednesday, he said.
