An auto-rickshaw driver died from electrocution in Chatkhil upazila of Noakhali on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Fazlul Haq, son of Ilias Miah, hailing from Bhairab upazila of Kishoreganj district.

Quoting witnesses, Md Dulal Miah, inspector of Chatkhil police station, said Fazlul was electrocuted while he was charging his battery-run-auto rickshaw.

Police recovered the body of Fazlul from Dak Bungalow area of Chatkhil Bazar at 12 noon, he said.

Locals said Fazlul, father of three children, was living with his family members in a rented house at Chatkhil Bazar. Like everyday, Fazlul went to a neighbouring house to charge his auto- rickshaw at 10 pm.

As he did not returned home after a long time, his family members searched him and spotted the body of Fazlul wrapping with electric wire in the room.
