The Election Commission (EC) has taken all preparations to hold by-polls to five constituencies by December this year.

Electronic voting machine (EVM) is being readied for elections.

The EC has already announced schedule for by-polls to Pabna-4, Dhaka-5 and Naogaon-6 constituencies. The schedule for by-polls to Dhaka-18 and Sirajagan-1 is supposed to be declared in November and the EC will hold elections in two constituencies by December.

Voting will be held in Dhaka-5 and Naogaon-6 using EVMs as per the decision while traditional ballot paper will be used in by-polls to Pabna-4.

Sources said the voting in all by-polls will begin at 9:00am and end at 5:00pm.

Regarding by-polls, EC senior secretary Md Alamgir said the by-elections to Pabna-4 will be held on September 26 while polls to Dhaka-5 and Naogaon-6 will be held on October 17 respectively.
