Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have recovered 1,10,000 lakh Yaba tablets from Sabrang Khurermukh area in Teknaf upazila of Cox’s bazaar on Monday morning.
In a press statement, BGB 2 Commanding Officer Lt Col Md Foysal Hasan Khan said: “Being informed that a large consignment of Yaba is entering Bangladesh from Myanmar, a special patrol team of BGB took position in the area.”
As drug peddler entered the maritime boundary of Bangladesh crossing the Naf River, the patrol team challenged him, he said.
At one stage, the smuggler fled the scene leaving a sack.
Later, the BGB men searched the sack and found the Yaba pills worth Tk 3.30 crore.
